Once again we have hear sad news about some more musicians that get regular ipod/turntable space here at Anti Slip Towers.
First we heard about the death of Smiley Culture who died at 48 years old on Tuesday , allegedly from self inflicted stab wounds.
Smiley Culture was known for two of the most influential reggae tracks of the 80s, Cockney Translator and Police Officer and also as one time collaborator with the mighty Saxon Sound System.
Then the we heard about rapper Nate Dogg who passed away aged 41. Nate Dogg had One of the most distinct voices of the G-funk era in hip-hop. Often heard collaborating with other rappers in Death Row Records’ glory days, Nate Dogg first came to our attention in the single “Regulate.” with Warren G’s Nate had hits alongside Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, Tupac Shakur, Eminem, and 50 Cent.
We would also like to mention the terrible events in Japan at the moment, am sure you don’t need us to tell you what has been happening their in the North. Far be it from us to tell people what to do but this weeks Friday beers fund is going here.
